Southside Community
Training Network (SCTN) focuses on building community
capacity through the provision of quality, affordable training
courses to individuals and groups working within Dún
Laoghaire-Rathdown.
To put it plainly, we believe offering affordable
training to the people working in our communities
gives us stronger leaders and stronger
communities.
SCTN
is an initiative of Southside Partnership DLR and is co-funded
by Southside Partnership DLR, the Health Service Executive
and the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Local Drugs Task Force.

We
organise training based on the needs of the organisations
with which we work. Since
we work with a diversity of organisations, our calender
is diverse. Courses are often on issues related to childcare,
accounting, grant-writing, web work and health and safety,
as well as around topics,
like
substance abuse or domestic violence.
Many
of our courses are FETAC (or otherwise) accredited. Our
trainers are experts in their fields. SCTN pays full price
for the training and charges
the learner a greatly reduced, subsidised price.
We work alongside other
community groups like Dún
Laoghaire-Rathdown County Childcare Committee and the Dún
Laoghaire-Rathdown Local Drugs
Task Force, and
include
their courses in our calendar.
SCTN courses are open to all
those living or working within Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
Priority will be given to those who work within areas and
communities
of disadvantage. All
of our training is organised to suit the needs of the
learner and
will
take
place
within the local community to facilitate easy access. If
a group has an interest in any particular
course, we will make every effort to accommodate their
request.
Visit our calendar and courses pages
for courses we're currently offering, as well as ones
we've run in the past and might again in the future. Remember,
places
are always limited, so please book early.
